Mary "Ms. Whirly" Watkins - Broker.  I am a native San Diegan who grew up in the Alpine area.  I have a degree in Computer Science, Systems Design and Programming from Grossmont College.  I left San Diego in the early 80's and went first to the Mojave desert where I worked as a computer programmer before taking a job in Burbank at the Walt Disney Company.  I worked for several different large corporations in the Los Angeles area, including Disney, Aramark, Health Net, Maxicare, PacifiCare and Blue Cross (Wellpoint).  In 1994 I took a ride in a helicopter on the Big Island of Hawaii and caught the flying bug.  I started taking flying lessons by the end of that year and got my Rotorcraft Private Pilot License in 1996.  In 1998 I got my Rotorcraft Commercial Pilot License.  I flew off and on in the Mountain Dew Jet Ranger with Commander Chuck Street for KIIS FM doing the radio traffic reporting in the Orange County and Los Angeles County areas.  I hope to someday own my own helicopter.  After earning my first pilot license, I learned to scuba dive and have been diving at several great locations in and out of this country.  I moved back to San Diego in 2004 and got my real estate salesperson license.  In 2006 I got my real estate brokers license and opened this office.  I got my Eco-Broker certification in 2007.  My son recently moved back to the United States from living in Brisbane, Australia for four years and my daughter lives in San Diego with her family.  I love living in the Anza Borrego Desert Area.

Tina Myrdal - I was born and raised in San Diego.  We spent time throughout my childhood camping here in Borrego.  I graduated high school from San Diego High.  I received my B.A. from UC Santa Barbara my majors were sociology and German.  I received my M.A from the University of Kassel in Psychology and Supervision.  I spent 30 years living and working in Germany as a family therapist and supervisor for the city government of Kassel.  Upon my return to America, with my German husband, we moved to Borrego in 1999.  We have enjoyed living and working here ever since then.  My interests are:  hiking, stargazing, learning about desert plants and animals and reading.  I was involved with the Circle of Art show as co-chairwoman for a few years promoting art here in Borrego Springs.  I especially enjoy the quiet desert life style without the hustle and bustle of freeways, traffic and noise etc.  I also enjoy the interesting people who live in this little town.  I look forward to assisting interested clients in finding the right home, lot or acreage - often a challenging, but fascinating occupation.

Carletta Stokes

I am a California transplant by way of New Jersey. My family moved to Anaheim, California in 1978.  We've lived in the Anza area since 2003.  Anza is a peaceful country area with the small town flair.

My background for over 20 years has been in accounting and finance.  I started my tax and bookkeeping service in 1998.  I joined the Borrego Valley Realty team and I'm very happy working with them.  I'm excited to show my considerable expertise in todays market.  My clients are more than real estate transactions and helping them through the complicated maze of a real estate transaction is a great feeling.  I love the outdoors and gardening. The occasional good book is great for times when I need to slow down.

Melissa Busic

I was born in Washington DC and lived in Maryland for the first half of my life, after that we moved to Borrego Springs and I have been here for 16 years. I am married with four children. This is a great community for raising kids. In my spare time I like to read and garden. I am very excited in helping my clients find what they are looking for whether it be buying a dream home, selling your home, or trying to find property to build upon.

 Edward Garcia

A Filipino-American by heart as I grew up with the American Jesuits and my wife was a teacher at the American School (aka, International School) in Manila, Philippines.  My family and I decided to migrate to CA in 1982.  Prior to this giant move, I practiced my CPA with a Big 5 Accounting firm and later joined a Real Estate Development and Brokerage firm for five years. 

Because of my background in Accounting and Real Estate, I was considered to be the Controller for a Mortgage Banker in 1983 and serviced that industry for over five years when the company decided to sell the business to an East Coast Bank.  I, likewise, had an opportunity to assist an Escrow company in Chino in insuring that their files we in order preparatory to a Department of Corporations audit. 

When I obtained my real estate license, I had the opportunity to get my initial training with a Century 21 brokerage firm in Bellflower, CA.  I recently joined Mary Watkins whom I have known for over 10 years now and I am happy to part of the Borrego Valley Realty Team.
