 Mary "Ms. Whirly" Watkins - Broker.  I am a native San Diegan who grew up in the Alpine area.  I have a degree in Computer Science, Systems Design and Programming from Grossmont College.  I left San Diego in the early 80's and went first to the Mojave desert where I worked as a computer programmer before taking a job in Burbank at the Walt Disney Company.  I worked for several different large corporations in the Los Angeles area, including Disney, Aramark, Health Net, Maxicare, PacifiCare and Blue Cross (Wellpoint).  In 1994 I took a ride in a helicopter on the Big Island of Hawaii and caught the flying bug.  I started taking flying lessons by the end of that year and got my Rotorcraft Private Pilot License in 1996.  In 1998 I got my Rotorcraft Commercial Pilot License.  I flew off and on in the Mountain Dew Jet Ranger with Commander Chuck Street for KIIS FM doing the radio traffic reporting in the Orange County and Los Angeles County areas.  I hope to someday own my own helicopter.  After earning my first pilot license, I learned to scuba dive and have been diving at several great locations in and out of this country.  I moved back to San Diego in 2004 and got my real estate salesperson license.  In 2006 I got my real estate brokers license and opened this office.  I got my Eco-Broker certification in 2007.  My son lives in Brisbane, Australia and my daughter lives in San Diego with her family.  I love living in the Anza Borrego Desert Area.

Nicole "Reed" Lee - I was born in San Diego and graduated from high school in Encinitas.  I earned my real estate salesperson license in January 2006.  I earned my California State Contractors license in October 2001. I grew up by the beach, Mission Bay then moved to North County to live in Leucadia until I graduated from high school.  I moved to Alpine for a few years and then spent a few years in Ocotillo Wells and Borrego Springs before moving back to the East County to get married.  I've been married for 10 years and have a son, a dog, two cats and a tarantula.  Love the river and going to the desert to ride motorcycles with the family.  I currently help run our family construction business in East County and have been for the last 10 years.   For fun, we build spec homes in Borrego Springs.

I have worked in escrow and I was a notary for loan document sign-ups.  Most of my family has been involved in some part of real estate and/or building.  I have a great background in building for residental and some commercial that spans three generations.

My grandfather, William Linthicum, sold real estate in Borrego Springs during the mid to late 60's.

Tina Myrdal - I was born and raised in San Diego.  We spent time throughout my childhood camping here in Borrego.  I graduated high school from San Diego High.  I received my B.A. from UC Santa Barbara my majors were sociology and German.  I received my M.A from the University of Kassel in Psychology and Supervision.  I spent 30 years living and working in Germany as a family therapist and supervisor for the city government of Kassel.  Upon my return to America, with my German husband, we moved to Borrego in 1999.  We have enjoyed living and working here ever since then.  My interests are:  hiking, stargazing, learning about desert plants and animals and reading.  I was involved with the Circle of Art show as co-chairwoman for a few years promoting art here in Borrego Springs.  I especially enjoy the quiet desert life style without the hustle and bustle of freeways, traffic and noise etc.  I also enjoy the interesting people who live in this little town.  I look forward to assisting interested clients in finding the right home, lot or acreage - often a challenging, but fascinating occupation.

Phillip "Phil" Whitehead  

I was born and raised in Zimbabwe, formally Rhodesia.  I left Rhodesia in 1973 following four years in the Army and a year with Air Rhodesia. My USA background is in the area of Title Insurance, Banking and Real Estate Settlement & Escrow procedures.  My history in Title Insurance has been in Sales management at Safeco Title, Riverside  and LA Counties.  Fidelity National in Arizona, American Title, Southern California.  My banking experience was with Crocker Trust Company and MetroBank N.A.  I moved back east with First American in Manhattan, National Marketing. I opened my full service Title Agency, Twenty First Century Title Inc in New Jersey in 1989.   I retired in 2006.   As a Realtor I am now working the Desert Resort cities in Southern California including the Coachella Valley.   I intend to actively assist my clients in all aspects of the Real Estate experience including obtaining mortgages as I believe I have a solid overall background in the industry.

I was born in Washington DC and lived in Maryland for the first half of my life, after that we moved to Borrego Springs and I have been here for 16 years. I am married with four children and have just bought my first home in October of 2007. This is a great community for raising kids. In my spare time I like to read and garden. I am new to real estate, I have had my license since April of 2007 and am just now joining the Borrego Valley Realty team. I am very excited in helping my clients find what they are looking for whether it be buying a dream home, selling your home, or trying to find property to build upon.
